Become an NECC Certified Test Site!
COMM CENTERS OR COLLEGES: NECC Test Site Application
Test Site FAQ
How do I become an NECC Test Site? You must fill out the application online at the site. When approved you will proudly display the NECC Test Site logo on your website and offices and receive a certificate to display. Candidates will be notified of participating sites within 150 miles of their location. If no site is located, NECC will attempt to enlist a site either temporary of permanent for that area. You are able to be your own test site. What equipment is needed? Can I use my own computers? You will use your own agency computer with an internet connection in a reasonably private location within your agency or school. You need no special software, as the test is 'web' based. The candidate needs only to be connected to the web. Your proctor will enter the web address and pass code to begin testing. Am I able to do evening/weekend testing? Your proctor or contact person will arrange the testing on YOUR Schedule - whatever that may be. NECC does not become involved in the scheduling of the exam. What can we earn for testing? How is it paid? NECC Test Sites may charge for any 'agency' or individual who wishes to take the NECC Certification test. This question will be asked on the application at www.911Certification.org. This does not include the PreCert Course from the college. Do I need a special phone line? You do not need anything other than a computer, internet connection and a printer. What about electrical power outages? If for any reason the computer goes offline the browser remains open. The test taker may need to start again. How is exam information kept secure? Only the candidate may receive scores. If an agency wishes to review individual scores, they must receive a release from the candidate. How do candidates get their scores? Do we have access to scores? Only the candidate has access to scores and they appear at the end of the exam automatically. When the test is complete, the candidate will print the scores and the test is retired to the PTC database. NECC, PTC and the candidate are notified of a pass or no pass for the exam. If the candidate does not pass, they may schedule another exam through the same process as the first - over the website. What if we cannot test due to emergencies? The agency has complete control over when to test and how often to test. If the candidate cannot be invited in, NECC will work to find an alternative test location. Your agency may be asked to suggest alternative test sites in the area.
